where it starts

The right unit for each room, not the biggest one.

Coastal summers here are long, and a badly sized system shows it in two ways: rooms that never quite cool down and a bill that keeps climbing. Most of that comes from one decision taken badly at the start — an output chosen from a rule of thumb instead of from the actual room, its orientation and its glazing.

We measure before we recommend. Sometimes the answer is a smaller unit than you expected, better positioned; sometimes it's a ducted system because you're renovating anyway and the ceiling void is there. What it's never is 'the biggest one we've got in the van'.

the difference

Registered firm, certificate on handover.

Air conditioning gets fitted here by all sorts of people. A RITE-registered firm is what makes the installation certifiable — and the certificate is what an insurer, a buyer or a manufacturer's guarantee will ask for. We are registered, and we hand you the paperwork.

The other half is the workmanship you don't see: drainage with the right fall so it never drips inside, refrigerant lines properly run, and an outdoor unit sited where it can breathe and where the salt air does the least damage. That's what decides whether it lasts fifteen years or seven.

what we do

Jobs we take on, with their paperwork.

Split unit installation

Output sized for the room, indoor unit sited for even air distribution, drainage at the right fall and lines properly run.

ROOM BY ROOM

Ducted systems

Unit in the ceiling void with grilles by room — quiet and invisible, usually decided during a renovation.

IN RENOVATIONS

Aerothermal heat pumps

Heating, cooling and hot water from one system, when the property is insulated well enough to justify it.

HONEST ADVICE

Replacing old units

Old equipment removed and disposed of correctly, and the new one adapted to the existing pipework where it can be reused.

REUSE WHERE POSSIBLE

Annual servicing

Filters, drainage, pressures and the outdoor unit — before the summer, which on this coast is when it matters.

ONCE A YEAR

Certificate and handover

Installation certified as a RITE-registered firm, documentation handed over and a written guarantee on the work.

WITH CERTIFICATE

NO PUBLISHED PRICES, ON PURPOSE: the output and the type of system depend on your property — the quote is fixed in writing after the free site visit.

What people ask us

BEFORE WE START
What size unit does my room need?

It depends on the floor area, the orientation, the glazing and how well insulated the property is — not on a rule of thumb. We measure it at the site visit and tell you the output each room genuinely needs. Oversizing costs you money twice: once at purchase and again every month.

Split units or a ducted system?

Splits are cheaper, quicker to install and easy to replace, and they make sense room by room. Ducted systems are quieter, invisible and better for a whole home, but they need a ceiling void and are usually decided during a renovation. We tell you which one fits your property rather than which one we'd rather sell.

Is an aerothermal heat pump worth it here?

In a well insulated home that also needs hot water and heating in winter, it usually is: one system covering all three, running on electricity, is efficient in a mild coastal climate. In a badly insulated flat used two months a year, it usually isn't — and we'll say so.

Do I get a certificate for the installation?

Yes. We're a RITE-registered firm, so the installation is certified as required and you get the documentation with the handover — which matters for the guarantee, for insurance and for a future sale.

How often should it be serviced?

Once a year for domestic units, ideally before the summer: filters, drainage, gas pressure and a check of the outdoor unit. On the coast, salt air is hard on outdoor units, and an annual service is the difference between one that lasts fifteen years and one that lasts seven.

Can you install a unit I've bought myself?

Yes, and we'll be honest with you first about whether the unit you've chosen is the right output for that room. We install and certify it; the equipment guarantee stays with your supplier, and ours covers the installation.

It can all be sorted.
